Composite Resources

I had a wonderful time last night photographing the Christmas Party for Composite Resources of Rock Hill. Everyone was so nice! The party was held on a boat at Queen's Landing. I am not finished processing the pictures, but I thought I would go ahead and post a couple of their pictures. These were taken as they arrived at Queen's Landing before boarding the boat. I will be adding to this post as I finish some others that I have been working on. So here are a couple of the formal pictures check back for some dancing pictures on the boat! I was surprised to learn that Composite Resources provides all of the soldiers tourniquets!

Behind on Blogging

It is time to get started blogging again! We had such a busy summer! We have spent the last several weeks designing albums. I have a couple finished and delivered and sometime next week I will share some on the blog. I also plan on updating my website very soon. I am going to be posting some engagement pictures on my website in the gallery section. We have just been busy getting all of the orders out in time for Christmas.

I am very excited right now about photographing a corporate Christmas Party at Queen's Landing this evening! So check back in a couple of days to view some of those.

Crystal & Jon's Wedding

Crystal and Jon were married Saturday at Truth Temple in Kannapolis, NC. Their reception was held at the Rowan Museum in Salisbury, NC. They make a great couple! They are both so funny! It wasn't funny though when the limo driver got lost on the way to the reception and ended up in Mooresville. Makes you wonder about those navigation systems! Everyone was beginning to worry and were trying to call them when they finally showed up!

Crystal evens manages to look glamorous and feminine when held sideways! I guess she is used to it with her two brothers. They said they always picked her up!

I think even Crystal was surprised when in the middle of a swing dance she was lifted up so high off the ground!

Kourtney & Will's Wedding

Heather and I photographed Kourtney and Will's wedding last Saturday. The wedding party and family were so nice! They had a beautiful wedding and reception. Their reception was held at Childress Vineyards. Every detail was perfect. I really loved their flowers. I always enjoy second shooting with Heather, she has some great ideas, (www.heatherhouston.com) and it is interesting to see how similar locations look so different from each of our perspectives. Here are a few of my favorites.

Pottery Barn Office

We just finished redecorating our office area! Since we spend so much time here we wanted a pretty work environment. We got rid of the staples office desk and filled the room with Pottery Barn. Of course, the desk set in boxes until my husband finished hunting! How horrible is it for photographers to have empty picture frames?! That is the next project!

Holly & David's Wedding

I photographed Holly and David's Wedding with Heather. It was absolutely the best time of year for pictures in Gold Hill! The leaves were changing and we didn't even have to go to the mountains to see them. Holly is just adorable! I am so jealous of the brides lately that have naturally curly hair. Holly has the biggest most beautiful eyes. When you sit in front of a computer all day like I do you have a tendency to notice stuff like that. Especially, when you enlarge them by 100%! I am not posting a picture of the cake this time, but it was pretty cool. It had fall leaves and birds in nest, and as many of you know do like birds! (I actually have a Yellow Naped Amazon.) Here are a few of my favorites...

Marian & Bobby's Wedding

Heather and I headed in different directions on Saturday. Heather went to Statesville. I departed to the beautiful Dennis Vineyards in Albemarle, NC. What a beautiful day for a wedding! Especially considering it had rained for three days straight. Everyone was so nice! They treated me like family. Her father even cut me a piece of cake and brought it to me! She told me Bobby was "pretty" and he was! But so is Marian! She has the prettiest hair and eyes! They make an amazing couple. I really loved her flowers, they had feathers in them! (I photographed a bride in Las Vegas with feathers in her hair. I loved it. It is fun to have something unique.) The DJ's from Virtual Sounds played some great music and everyone had a wonderful time! I teased the DJ's about stalking me since they were also at the wedding I did the previous Saturday!

Brandy & Dustin's Wedding

Heather and I photographed Brandy's wedding on October 13th at Lake Tillery. The location was beautiful! Everyone was so nice! It was so sweet to see the father of the bride become emotional at the thought of his daughter getting married. But Brandy picked out a real winner with Dusty. It is easy to tell how much he really cares about her.

On a different note... I had been reading about so many photographers loosing images due to cards becoming corrupt. I thought I was safe because my cards were only a couple of months old and one of the best name brands for CF cards. Now I know it can happen to anyone. When we started downloading our cards one of my cards said it coulod not be read by any of the programs on my computer! I worked with it for most of the day. I ran Rescue Pro Deluxe on the San Disk card and another program I got online. Nothing worked until we pulled the old Dell PC out of the attic and ran a PC only program! (We have changed over to Apple computers, which are supposed to be the best for handling raw file.) It ran from 10 am until after we had gone to bed recovering and saving the files. That computer is so slow compared to the Mac Pro! Anyway we recovered all of the files! Here are a few of my favorites! Several of these are the recovered files!

I really like this picture! I like the look of the sun, this is how it looks straight out of the camera without any photoshop work, and there are also star shapes on the water which you can see in larger size photos.

They requested that we shoot this picture, which was like one on display at the venue. They said other photographers were unable to replicate this shot...well it was pitch black, but I think we got it!

I actually like this one better because it shows the venue and I like the light being star shaped!

Wow! I can't believe how well you can see the bird seed, but it does look kind of painful!

Marian's Bridal Session

It was so much fun doing Marian's bridal portraits. She wanted to do something different. Her fiancee loves Harley's so she decided to do her bridal portrait with his Harley jacket. She also decided to do the black fingernail polish! As we started shooting we came across an old house. I was afraid it was about to fall apart, but we decided to try it anyway. Now, I really don't believe in ghost, but I noticed a reflection as I was processing the pictures that had me zooming in and trying to see what was causing it most of this morning! It looked like a woman in the window on the right. It even looked like it had moved to the left in another picture. How strange! Since I don't think I could go back there without being spooked I have decided it had to be a reflection of a tree or something. Hmmm.. What do you think?
